Tools of Architecture

The mesh of architecture and technology is beginning to create endless possibilities and the start of new architecture.

For the first time in history, a house will be constructed from a 3D printer. A firm of very ambitious Dutch architects – Universe Architecture are planning to build the 12,000 sqft landscape mobius house with the use of a D-Shape Printer. The largest previously know object to be created from a 3D printer was a 3m high pavilion by architect Andrea Morgante. It will take around 18 months for the house to be completed.

Ruijssenaars as saying: “It will be the first 3D printed building in the world. I hope it can be opened to the public when it’s finished.”

Certainly in the Yelo office we’ve been venturing into software which is not traditionally used in Architecture. Thinking outside of the box in ways of presenting projects to clients that isn’t in the standard format i.e power points and paper documents.
